When we arrived to Cayo Blanco, the scorching sun was already burning down the sand and the water was warm and inviting. Not being a big fun of bursting into flames under the sun, I decided to grab the camera (by the way, it was the very first international flight and trip for my new Nikon D5100 and she was up to the task!!) and go exploring the surrounding areas.
Away from the shore, the cay (or key) is just a big mess of entangled tall trees leaning towards the water and stranded dried seaweed making cracking noises under my feet as I walk. We kept wondering the reason why this place was called a cay instead of an island. We found that out. It´s a cay because there is no drinking water. You need to bring your own water to cook or drink if you decide to stay there overnight. (Something tells me there is no staying overnight there)
Hola Nat,
Marisa.
Marisa querida;
It looks so beautiful. Love that first shot with the clouds behind the umbrellas. -all lovely photos.
ResponderEliminarThere was blue skies, clear water and the whitest sand I´ve been everywhere!
Eliminaryour photos make me feel like I'm right there -- love those castanets (correct name?) you photographed too.
ResponderEliminarOh Diane, thank you!!
EliminarIn fact, those are not castanets, they are maracas keychains and I loved how colorful they were!! Cuba is a wonderful place to visit!
